You can look up a permit, license, planning project, or violation by the following:

  • Address (street address only – no city, state, or zip code)
  • Licensed contractor name
  • License holder name
  • Reference Code
  • Permit/License/Case Number

There is no limit to the size of a project that you can apply for online.

Yes, you will receive a notification email once the final approval is complete and a decision has been made. In some cases, you may be contacted by Village staff in order to collect additional information or get clarification regarding your application.

In order to avoid unauthorized account use, licensed contractors who wish to use our online services are required to register online. Once their account has been verified, a Village staff member will review and connect the web account and any existing licenses. After that is complete, contractors will be able to log in to our website using the confidential username and password that they entered during the registration process.

Some building permits require the upload of supporting documents such as the stamped architectural plans. The accepted file formats are pdf, jpg, and tiff and size limit is 10MB. If you are having difficulties uploading your plan, please bring your documents to the Village Hall at 325 N O'Plaine Road.

You can upload any number of documents on your application until your application is approved by Village staff.

Yes, you can apply for as many individual permits as you want. You can access the summary of your past and current applications in the “Your Items” section.

No, there is no convenience fee.

As soon as your application is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email acknowledging that we received your application. Village staff will review your application and if it is complete, he/she will process it. In some cases, Village staff will need additional information and/or clarification regarding your application and will contact you. You will receive a notification email as soon as a decision has been made regarding your application.

You should have received a notification email informing you that your application has been approved. Before you can obtain your official document, you need to pay any unpaid fees either online and in person.
