What does it do?

One Stop makes it simple for homeowners, businesses, licensed professionals, developers, contactors, and other interested citizens to:

  • Find information about a permit, license, planning project, or violation in progress.
  • Initiate an application for many types of permits without coming to Village Hall.
  • Pay with credit cards for permits online.
  • Research what has been permitted, licensed, or cited at a particular location or during a user defined time frame.

A great example of government transparency at work, One Stop Online pulls up-to-date information directly from the Village's official records, providing a single, comprehensive and authoritative view to the public for the very first time.

Why did we make it?

The Village of Gurnee is working around the clock to improve the local community and foster development throughout the Village. Each Village Department collects and manages data about properties in entirely different ways, which can result in duplicated efforts, inconsistent information, and precious energy wasted. Many organizations have also lost time and expended effort waiting in person to make applications to multiple departments at Village Hall and at other Village sites.

At One Stop, 8 Village Departments have joined together to integrate their review processes and create a single point of entry for applicants. One Stop offers online submittals of applications to be routed through the correct departments internally so that builders, developers, homeowners, and business can spend more of their time leveraging their resources for individual and village wide success.
